Goodreads Synopsis:
Rose Hathaway's life will
never be the same.
The recent attack
on St. Vladimir's Academy devastated the entire Moroi world. Many are dead.
And, for the few victims carried off by Strigoi, their fates are even worse. A
rare tattoo now adorns Rose's neck, a mark that says she's killed far too many
Strigoi to count. But only one victim matters ... Dimitri Belikov. Rose must
now choose one of two very different paths: honoring her life's vow to protect
Lissa—her best friend and the last surviving Dragomir princess—or, dropping out
of the Academy to strike out on her own and hunt down the man she loves. She'll
have to go to the ends of the earth to find Dimitri and keep the promise he
begged her to make. But the question is, when the time comes, will he want to
be saved?
Now, with
everything at stake—and worlds away from St. Vladimir's and her unguarded,
vulnerable, and newly rebellious best friend—can Rose find the strength to
destroy Dimitri? Or, will she sacrifice herself for a chance at eternal love?
My Review:
Shadow Kiss
leaves us with Rose making her way across countries to find and kill Dimitri
who was taken by a Strigoi during a fight. Dimitri's unexpected fall while
trying to save Rose led him to be captured and turned into a Strigoi. WHAT!??
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
First half of the book:
Rose is filled with pain, sorrow, sadness, and most of all she's lost. She has to choose between her promise to Dimitri or go back home to be a guardian. But when Rose meets Sydney and Dimitri's family she is determined now more than ever to find him and kill him.
And when she finally finds him...
At this point, my copy of Blood Promise was going to be thrown across my room in pure rage. I was shocked, angry, and sad for Rose. She loves this man and now she has to do the unthinkable! I don't think I would have ever been able to do what she planned. It's heartbreaking and I just wanted to cry. I have come to love Dimitri and his stubbornness, his strong protectiveness towards Rose, and most of all his deep love for her. But he has become the one thing that he has been fighting against his entire life. Life can truly be cruel and unexpected at times. But Rose and Dimitri must figure out a way to get back on track, be patient, and most of all trust that this is not the end for them. Ahhhh I have chills trying to figure out what's going to happen in the next book!
