Goodreads Synopsis:
The new Dragon Diary novel from the author of Flying
Blind.
Zoë Sorensson yearns to come into her powers as
the only female dragon shifter. But being part of two worlds is more
complicated than she expected. It's bad enough that she's the target of the
Mages's plan to eliminate all shifters-but she also has to hide her true nature
from her human best friend, Megan. But when Megan gets a last-minute invite to
the popular kids' Halloween party-hosted by an apprentice Mage-Zoë must save
the day and her best friend without revealing her fire- breathing secrets...
My Review:
If you like dragons then this is the
book for you. This book moves along at a nice pace and never leaves you feeling
like something needs to happen. I enjoyed the action, the background behind the
dragons, and the characters. Winging It brought a more grown up Zoe, lots of
conflicts and the handsome Jared. I loved the character of Jared and he was so
mysterious.
This book focuses more on Megan and
Zeo's friendship. We get to know her better and watch as Zoe tries to hide the
truth about herself that she desperately wants to let out. Their friendship
takes a hit when Zeo refuses to tell Megan what is going on and her best friend
stops talking to her. Mean while the bad guys have struck and all the adults
are missing. It's up to the kids to figure out who kidnapped their parents and
find them before the magicians kill them all. This is where Zoe must prove
herself. She is the most powerful female dragon and her powers haven't fully
grown yet. As the search for their parents begin, Zeo and her friends realize
there might be some casualties. The magicians aren't playing games and they have
become more powerful then they thought.
Overall, an exciting story to read.
I really want more Jared and Zoe scenes and hopefully the third book will
deliver. If you haven't read this series yet, then I highly recommend it. It is
fast paced wit lovable characters and an interesting plot! I loved every minute
of it!
