Goodreads Synopsis:

It's a beautiful day for a war.

As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.

And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.

In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.

My Review:

Wow! Just wow! I was waiting for this series to hurry up and end so I could find out what happens and now that it has, I wish it hadn't! Ahhhhh My emotions are everywhere with this series!

First, HOLY HOT DAIMON BABIES have you seen the cover!!!! AHHHHHHHH LOOK!!!.....it's so simple, yet soooooo perfect!

Sentinel was without a doubt the most heartbreaking, yet intriguing book I have read. I have been Armentrout's fan since Half-Blood first came out in 2011 and I still don't know how she does. She captures your heart on every page and makes your emotions run wild. I fell in love with this series, the characters, the plot, and the covers. It was an amazing roller coaster ride and I'm sad to say this is the last book in this series!!!!!!!!!!

Alex and Aiden have been through so much together, but the time has come for it to all end. Going to war with the Gods is suicide. You can't guarantee who will live or die, and sacrifices are made for the greater good. But Alex will have to make the ultimate sacrifice. With the help of her friends, Gods and her family, Alex finally steps into the ring to show everyone what a real Apollyon can do.

The characters in this book truly came to their full potentials. I can't stress how refreshing it was to see the main characters making calculated decisions, planning every detail, but remembering that anything can happen. If you read my reviews for the previous books in this series, then you know how much I loved Aiden and Alex, and hated Seth. But I haven't talked about the others until now.

      Deacon:
Aiden's younger brother is full of laughs. He is extremely hilarious and had me giggling throughout. For example, when Alex was turning into an Apollyon in the previous book, she was on the floor screaming in pain. While Aiden was at her side trying to calm her down Deacon came barging in commenting on how Alex looked like she was having a baby and Aiden was the father. (This might be foreshadowing something, but you gotta read to find out!) HAHA (Deacon also had a little something-something going on with Apollo).

      Caleb:
He was the sweet best friend who was by Alex's side. He trusted her, believed in her, and always had her back. It was truly heartbreaking to see how things ended for him, but I guess he's happy where he ended up.

      Alex's Mom:
She was an interesting character. Though she was only in the first or second book her character played a major role. Considering the fact that she had turned into a Daimon and tried to kill Alex...but now she has moved on and is in a better place.

      The Gods:
Some were easy to love, like Apollo, but others were annoying and just stupid. However, there were some unexpected allies and enemies that surprised me a lot.

Overall, truly an amazing series to read! I loved every minute and it's one of those stories that stays with you. Armentrout is really a literary genius and I love her work. She has a way to grab hold of your attention and when you think you know how it will end, she throws in a few plot twists. I was in awe of her writing skills and I'm heartbroken that this is the end of this series, but like they say, all good things much come to an end. If you liked this series then definitely check out her other series called Lux. It will not disappoint!!!
