Goodreads Synopsis:
JESS MASTRIANI
Knew she wasn't going to be able to hide her psychic powers
from the U.S.
government forever. But she never thought that she and Dr. Krantz, the special
agent brought in to convince Jess to join his elite team of "specially
gifted" crime solvers, would have something in common.
When a local boy's disappearance is attributed to a
backwoods militia group, it turns out that Jess and Dr. Krantz have the same
goal. Suddenly Jess finds herself collaborating with one enemy in order to stop
a far worse one. In an atmosphere of hate and fear, Jess and Dr. Krantz must
work together to unite a community and save a life...without loosing their own.
My Review:
Strange
things are happening in Jess's home town. First, her new neighbor, Nate
Thomkins goes missing and is later found dead on Thanksgiving. Then a local Synagogue is vandalized. Lastly, another kid from her neighborhood goes missing.
With all these disappearances and murders Jess just might have to get involved, but the problem is, she doesn't want to. All she wants is to have thanksgiving
with her family and then Robs family. Waittttttttttttttt!!! What!? Yes you read
that right! Rob has invited Jess to his house for thanksgiving!! This is the
furthest Rob and Jess have gone in their relationship and we get to witness an
awesome scene in Rob's garage!
So
when the murders and missing children cases start to point towards a local,
crazy militia group, Jess decides what's happening in her town is her
business after all. With the help of her psychic abilities, Rob, and the FBI
agents who are following her around, Jess is able to solve this mystery once
again.
Okay
I have to vent a little. First, I am so annoyed with this FBI thing. If they
want something from Jess they just need to come to her and tell her. They can't
keep spying on her and making her scared and unsafe. Second, I am sooooo over
this Rob situation. Yes I like Rob and his relationship with Jess, but man step
up to the plate and tell her how you feel. I hate that they keep playing tug a
war with their hearts. Lastly, I'm just annoyed with this series. I kind of
want it to end already. I don't see where Cabot is trying to lead the story and
it's making me frustrated. The ending ended at a dull note. I mean nothing
exciting happened. Rob and Jess's relationship was just done, there was no excitement
or any insight on what happens to them next.
