Goodreads Synopsis:

Enter a world of fierce wolves, stunning magic and romance...

It’s bad enough feeling different among the human crowd, but feeling different among wolves?

No one said returning to her pack would be easy, especially after ten years without them, but seventeen year old Caia Ribeiro is unprepared for the realities of the transition. Raised in a world where kids aren't scared by bedtime tales of the bogeyman but by the real life threat of enemy supernaturals who might come creeping into their community to kill them in their sleep, Caia is used to the darkness; she’s used to the mystery and the intrigue of the ancient underworld war she’s bound to by chance of birth. What she’s having trouble with are pack members treating her with wary suspicion, the Elders tucking secrets behind their backs out of her sightline, and her young Alpha, Lucien, distracting her, with a dangerous attraction, from her decision to uncover the truth.

But as the saying goes ‘the truth will out’ and when it does, Caia will only have so long to prepare herself before the war comes pounding on their door threatening to destroy the safe, secret lives of the wolves… and the girl they protect.

YA Paranormal Romance recommended for ages 16 and up.

My Review:

The future of Caia Riberiro was set in stone long before she was born. The Mother of all Gods, in her infinite wisdom set forth a plan to end all this bloodshed and war. In order to achieve this goal, Caia is the center of it all. Hidden from her pack for the past ten years has been difficult for Caia. After her parents were killed by The Hunter, an enemy of Pack Erranter and Member of the Midnight Coven, Caia is finally allowed to return home. But her return is not exactly a welcome home party with banners and cake.

The Pack lost many family members trying to protect Caia, and in some way they blame her. She is an outsider to them who isn't to be trusted and Caia feels the same way. She knows she is different from the other Lykans, but she just doesn't know how different. She doesn't look like them, have their quick temper, and hardheadedness. But spending so much time in isolation was bound to make her actions different then the rest. When she arrives she doesn't understand the dirty looks and rudeness from the pack. But soon she realizes they are hiding secrets from her. Secrets about her family, her past, and why she has a target on her back.

So when Caia finally returns she is immediately drawn to the pack Alpha, Lucian, who is her new protector. Ohh Lucian!! He is not charming at all! He is described as good looking, muscular, and arrogant at times. I loved their interactions. He is a stubborn ass who wants everything to go his way. But Caia doesn't let him get to her in the beginning and this angers him  a lot. They go back and forth, but Lucian tries to keep away from her even though he is drawn to her. However, Lucian is hiding secrets from Caia, secrets that may cause her to leave the pack, her friends, and him behind in order to save them all. So will Caia accept her destiny and save her pack? Or will she feel betrayed and leave them behind to keep them save?

This book was truly intoxicating and entertaining. It was well written, the characters were well developed, and it was fast paced. The opening was dramatic. It hooks the reader into this world of Lykans until you finish the entire book. I loved every minute of it!
