My Review:

Kylie - Who are you?? 

This has been the biggest question throughout this series. Kylie has been trying to figure out where she belongs in this paranormal world. She is far from being normal and finally finding out who she is has put her at ease. But there were many questions that were left unanswered. However, this final book answers them all.

  After some unexpected events in Whispers at Moonrise, Kylie decides to live with her grandfather and learn more about herself. She thought she would be learning new tricks, her abilities, and learning how to disappear. But with every good thing there is always a price to pay. Learning that she is a Chameleon was shocking. She is able to switch her supernatural pattern to blend in with the other supernaturals. Chameleons do this disappearing act to protect themselves from the enemy. In the supernartual world, Being a Chameleon is frowned upon. It means you are deceiving everyone and many people don't like this. After trying hard to find her place, Kylie now fights for a better supernatural world where everyone can live together in peace.  

  Kylie is very determined to change the ways of her society and with the help of her friends she is able to achieve what she desires. But it all comes with a price. Kylie will have to make difficult decisions even it that means upsetting many supernaturals. One important decision she will make is in her relationship. Will she choose the safe, loving, caring, half-fae, Derek? Or will she chose the more dangerous option and also her childhood love, Lucas? My Review:

      Kylie finally knows what she is!! After all this mystery and going through hell to find out what her identity is Kylie is relieved. But she still have many questions that are unanswered. Her grandfather has finally showed up to help Kylie and wants her to move in with him. This is where the hard part comes. Kylie must decide if she wants to stay at Shadow Falls and be with her friends or go with her grandfather who is willing to teach her about her ancestors/abilities. This is a very hard decision for Kylie, not to mention Derek just confessed his love for her, Lucas has been acting like a jerk, and Kylie's seeing the ghost of someone close to her that's still alive! Can things get any worse!? How can she possibly handle everything, and keep her sanity? What sacrifices will Kylie have to make in order to find out about herself and where she ultimately belongs?

Some of the characters pissed me off a lot in this book. Lets start with Lucas. He is arrogant, a jerk, and most importantly he ignores Kylie. Since Lucas's pack forbids him to go out with Kylie, he has been keeping his distance. This distance has caused a riff in their relationship making Kylie feel unloved and abandoned. Even though, Lucas is in love with Kylie, he must abide by the rules of the Pack in order to become the Alpha. Derek on the other hand, is a sick love puppy, who won't back down from Kylie. Derek wants Kylie and he is always there to support her. But Kylie is in love with Lucas and there in lies the problem. A predictable love triangle with Kylie in the center of it all. Kylie is also an annoying character in this book. She takes her time to deal with Derek's confession and is stringing him along. Just let him go already!? Holiday and Burnett are my favorite of them all!!!!!! They are so cute together. You can tell Burnett loves Holiday a lot even though he is a tough, bad-ass Vampire. I can't wait for Perry and Miranda to get together! And Della is just a hoot!

Overall, lots of mystery, action, suspense, and a fast pace. I really liked how Hunter incorporated different supernatural characters and gave the story line an intriguing factor. And I love the supernatural being that Kylie finds out she is. Its super cool and something totally different!

My Review:

I am in love with the covers of this series! So beautiful!

So we are back at Shadow Falls with Kylie and the gang. She is trying to process everything that has happened so far with the vampires. Kylie has been through hell. Being kidnapped by the vampires who want her powers, chasing a ghost who won't rest until she discovers the truth, being in the center of a fight between Lucas and Derek, and now trying to figure out a an ominous warning from a creepy ghost who wont rest until she listens. Life isn't easy for Kylie and adding the mystery about her identity to the list of growing problems is giving Kylie a headache. Luckily, Kylie has her two best friends and her now closer than ever, camp leader, Holiday to support her.  

Tensions are rising at Shadow Falls. Afraid of the safety of the camp and Kylie, Holiday and Burnett have decided to have guards follow Kylie around. Due to this safety issue Kylie and Lucas are having a hard time being alone. Not to mention Lucas's Pack don't want Kylie and Lucas to be together. This is causing more problems with their relationship forcing them to choose where their loyalties lie. Will Kylie decide to give Lucas a chance or is Derek the better choice? Other than this chaos, Kylie is desperate to figure out who she is and she just may be getting closer. But when some truths are revealed will Kylie be ready to hear the answer? 

Taken At Dusk is full of thrills and some twists that I honestly didn't see coming. I simply cannot get enough of Kylie's reality. I love how C.C. Hunter made her supernaturals and each lore that goes along with them is well written.

My Review:

           Ahhhhh! Okay. At this point I don't know what team I'm on. I am torn between Lucas and Derek like Kylie is! Lucas is mysterious, sexy, strong, kind of scary and  childhood friends with Kylie. But Derek on the other hand, is well amazing. He is sweet, caring, smart, and totally in love with Kylie. This is going to be an interesting series trying to figure out who Kylie ends up with! I also loved the relationship between Miranda and Perry (the powerful shape shifter). Miranda likes Perry but she won't fully commit to it. Holiday on the other hand, will not let the sexy vampire Burnett (another camp leader) get close to her at all.  I just loved their interactions as the story continued!

            In this book we are back in Shadow Falls with Kylie, her friends, the cute boys, and the amazing camp leaders. So Kylie still has no idea what she is except knowing and accepting her ghost whispering abilities. But she is confused and wants to know what she is. So with the help of her best friends Miranda and Della, as well as my favorite camp leaders, Kylie sets out to find more about herself and what role she plays in this new mysterious threat that is haunting the camp. But if she doesn't figure out who is after them then someone close to her will get hurt. This series has been amazing so far. At first I didn't think I would like it at all but all the characters at Shadow Falls grew on me. And I can't wait to see what happens next!

My Review:

            The main character is 16-year old Kaylie, whose parents are getting a divorce and she keeps seeing a figure that is invisible to everyone else but her. She attends a party that ends badly when the police show up. Unfortunately Kaylie gets arrested and that's the last strike for her mother. Kaylie ends up at a reform camp for the summer. Turns out the reform camp isn't really for reform kids, but for special supernatural ones. As Kaylie starts to get used to her surrounds and her roommates she learns secrets about herself, where she came from, and who the mysterious figure following her around really is.

           First off I want to say that I had no idea before starting this book that it would contain the basic paranormal creatures. From werewolves to vampires and even fairies. But what caught my attention was the introduction of something new. I don't want to spoil anything, but what Kaylie figures out about her self is so interesting! I loved the idea of shape-shifters and Hunter incorporates that with other paranormals in a very creative way.

          At Shadow Falls, Kaylie  gets to know and become close friends with different paranormals. However, she makes some enemies too. During camp activities Kaylie gets to spend time with Derek, the guy she meets on the bus. Derek reminds Kaylie of her ex and she starts to like him. But when Kaylie runs into Lucas,(from her childhood) her memory brings back times he saved her from bullies. And everything changes. She remembers him looking over the fence saying, "If you don't want your new kitten to suffer the same fate as your cat, bring him in tonight." But this 'new' Lucas doesn't match up with the childhood one. Kaylie is determined to find out Lucas secret is and that involves talking to him. And she isn't ready to go face to face with him just yet.

          This book got me hooked from the first page. It is a fast paced read and I just loved the characters. As Kaylies character grows, so do the rest of the characters. I think that is super important in a good book so the reader can stay hooked.
