Hardcover: 496 Pages
Published: November 26, 2013
Series: Angels
            1. Angel Burn
            2. Angel Fire
            3. Angel Fever
Rating:★★★★

Goodreads Synopsis:

As half-angel Willow strives to save the world from her parasitic otherworldly kin, romance and tension heat up to a climactic finale.

In the devastated remains of the world, millions of people live in "refugee" camps provided by the angels who have all but enslaved humanity. As this angelic stranglehold tightens, Willow and Alex are recruiting and training new Angel Killers while struggling to hold ground on the celestial battlefield. But Willow continues to have feelings for Seb, and her love and resolve are tested as a shattering revelation sends Alex on a separate journey. Now that the final battle versus the angels is about to begin-and the fate of the world hangs in the balance-each of them must face the consequences of their own choices. Will love endure? Will the human race survive?

My Review:

The war is finally here. Alex, Willow, and the Angel Killers have trained months for this ultimate showdown and are ready to fight. Along the way they lost a few friends, but they have managed to stay together and remember what they are fighting for. In the previous book they were leaving Mexico to find a secret base that would provide them with the weapons to annihilate the Angels.
To make things worse, Raziel has put a hit out for Willow and her friends. If they are spotted they are to be killed on the spot. The Angel Killers must be on the lookout if they want to survive and go to war. Meanwhile, Raziel  is opening a portal to bring the rest of the Angels to Earth to take over. However, Alex's father built a machine long time ago and if they can get it to work, then Alex can travel to the other side of the portal and stop the Angels from entering.

There is so much going on that at times I was overloaded with information. The characters are going through so much pain and loss that it's sad to see them suffer. I have come to love each character and it was sad to see some of them die. Alex and Willow's relationship has taken a hit when Seb came into the picture. There is of course a love triangle--which I am not a fan of-- that complicates everything. Seb is in love with Willow since she is the only other half-angel he can relate to. But Willow loves Alex and Alex is not sure how he feels and is undecided. Goshhh! It was so annoying trying to keep up with the love tangle. Overall, the plot was exciting and well paced. Definitely a new take on the Angel world and I admire Weatherly for showing how angels can have a bad side to them.

Series: Angel
            1. Angel Burn
            2. Angel Fire
            3. Angel Fever
Rating:★★★★

Goodreads Synopsis:

Only half-angel Willow, 16, has the power to defeat the malevolent Church of Angels, out to destroy her. When her love Alex, 17, leads other trained Angel Killers, they treat her with mistrust and suspicion. Seb, also half-angel, has been searching for Willow all his life, and both finally feel less alone.

My Review:

Angel Fire, was just as compelling and creatively written as the previous book. Even though the book was long and we meet new characters I enjoyed reading. At times it was a little boring due to excessive details, but overall, I enjoyed this new story. The character development is well written and it's easy to love Willow's soft, yet innocent nautre. Speaking of lovable characters...lets talk about Alex! He is an angel hunter who accidently came across Willow. He was going to kill her when he noticed that her angel was different than the rest. Due to curiosity, Alex and Willow found themselves falling for each other and jumping into danger together. There love continues in this book with lots of twists and turns.
As more Angels embark on Earth to infiltrate the minds of humans worldwide, Willow and Alex are determined to find the leader and kill him for good. They have been running for a while and after almost being caught they are running out of places to hide. A special group of Angel Killers is formed that takes the couple to Mexico where they realize a price must be paid in order to accomplish their mission. Willow being a half-angel and all makes her an untrustworthy candidate. However, Alex will not leave her side so the Angel Killers will have to accept her into their fold. In order for them to be successful they will need to train all day, everyday. The Angels will hold nothing back and they must be at their best to save their planet.
This story and how the angels operate is very fascinating. I loved reading how the power plays between the Angels and humans. Willow's father, Raziel, also added excitement to the plot and brought some surprising twists. The plot was cleverly put together and I'm sure the excitement will leave you wanting more!

My Review:
After reading Hush Hush and Fallen I didn't think there would be any other good angel books. I was very hesitant in picking this one up because it featured a girl as being an angel. Yeh Yeh I know I was being sexist. But I'm truly glad I read this book. Though I liked Hush Hush and somewhat liked Fallen, I was totally blown away by Angel Burn. This book isn't about your typical fallen angel who falls in love and has to save the day. What was so unusual about this book was that it takes the whole notion of angels as kindly guardians and turns it upside down. Angles want something from humans and they will do ANYTHING to get it. Even if that means taking lives of innocent people. Say what now!!!!? But I thought angels were our guardians! Weatherly was very creative in creating this unique world of angels with Willow being smack dab in the middle of the battle field.
Willow is a clairvoyant who sees glimpses of the future for anyone she touches, and is horrified by what she sees during a vision reading for one of her classmates. In the meantime, alternate chapters follow a mysteriously sexy assassin named Alex, who at first, sees Willow as his nemesis, but gradually comes to terms with her and helps her uncover dangerous secrets about her past---and about her future.
Alex and Willow are fantastic characters who make mature decisions and do their best in the most impossible situations. As a team they become stronger and more appealing to each other. Throughout most of the book they are on the run and have to learn to depend on each other. Willow and Alex are deeply connect with each other, funny and honest even though they both have reasons not to be. It was refreshing to read about a boy and girl who are nice to each other even when they maybe enemies.
