Goodreads Synopsis:

It’s all-out war (and no-holds-barred romance) in the climactic conclusion to Carrie Jones’s bestselling series.

Zara is at the center of an impending apocalypse. True, she’s successfully rescued Nick from Valhalla, but it simply isn’t enough. Evil pixies are ravaging Bedford, and they need much more than one great warrior; they need an army. Zara isn’t sure what her role is anymore. She’s not just fighting for her friends; she’s also a pixie queen. And to align her team of pixies with the humans she loves will be one of her greatest battles yet. Especially since she can’t even reconcile her growing feelings for her pixie king . . .

Unexpected turns, surprising revelations, and one utterly satisfying romantic finale make Endure a thrilling end to this series of bestsellers.

My Review:

Well here we are with the final installment. I'm still not sure how I feel. I guess I have mixed feelings about the ending, but what can you do. There is a lot going on in this book and the plot is very fast. At times I had to stop reading only to re-read and figure out what was happening. The first half of the book took time to build up to the final battle between Zara and the evil Pixies. Zara and her friends are training and getting ready for war and nothing will stand in their way of success.

The characters have grown so much throughout this series. Zara went from being a shy young lady to a confident young women. She is a fierce fighter, loyal to her friends and she will make a great queen! This series has been fascinating and it's sad that it has come to an end. But the end was awesome and even though I didn't really like how things ended between Zara, Nick, and Astley, I still think it was a fun read. Zara had wonderful friends who would help her with anything and they stood by her no matter what. It's this kind of friendship that gives books their depth and makes the reader want to read. Overall, a very good series and if you haven't read it yet, then I recommend you do so right now!

Especially since she hasn't turned into just any pixie... She's Astley's queen.

My Review:

Goshhh!!! Such beautiful covers! I love them! Okay first of all, I thought this book was awesome! I loved the idea of pixies and the plot was very interesting. So Zara and Astley are concentrating on finding Nick in Valhalla and saving him. Along the way, they face lots of loss and find that people aren't always what they seem. As their journey begins, Astley and Zara become closer than ever and you can even call them friends. But Zara soon realizes Astley isn't telling her the truth. Captivate #2 by Carrie Jones

6600137Genre: Pixie
Hardcover: 273 Pages
Published: January 5, 2010
Series: Need
            1. Need
            2. Captivate
            3. Entice
            4. Endure
Rating:★★★★

Goodreads Synopsis:

He smiles. It's a wicked smile. Kind but not kind. Handsome but dangerous. Feral almost. I can see why Nick nearly killed him, Nick...

I ask again, "Why were you in the road?"
"I was waiting for you."

Zara and her friends thought they'd solved the pixie problem. And they did - sort of. The pixie's are all locked away, deep in the woods. But the king's needs grow stronger each day that he is in captivity, while his control over his people weakens. And it's enough to draw a new king into town. Astley claims he is different. He claims there are pixies who can live peacefully with humans, that it doesn't have to be all violence and nastiness all the time. Zara wants to believe him...until Astley also claims that she is fated to be his queen.

There is no way Zara would ever turn pixie. And she's got good friends who will make sure of that. Besides, she and Nick are so in love they're practically inseparable. But when they very thing Zara wants to protect most is exactly what's at risk, she is forced to make choices she never imagined....

My Review:

Captivate was an interesting read. Like its previous book, Need, it is filled with creative and imaginative details. The pacing was fast and the plot picks up quickly sucking the reader into this interesting world of Pixies. In the previous book we left off with Zara settling into her new life with her grandmother. Her relationship with Nick is off to a good start and they are working through everything together. Everything is going the way Zara hoped it would go except for her father. Lately he has become a big pain in the butt for Zara and her friends. And adding to the list of growing problems is a new pixie in town claiming he would be a better king who wants Zara as his queen. Like things couldn't get any worse.

The plot was interesting enough. This would be my first pixie series so I am very excited to find out what happens. I really liked how the author added different supernatural beings to this mix. It's nice to see the mixing of supernatural's which I think adds more depth to a series. The characters were very well thought out. I loved how the author added Zara's phobias to the beginning of each chapter. It gave the book a creepy feel and was more interesting. However, I really hoped to get a more in depth look at Astley. He came across as a boring prince when he had the potential to come across as a strong, sexy character. Hopefully, in the next book Astley has a bigger role and we get a insight on him. Overall, a quick read and very cool idea of Pixies.

Need by Carrie Jones

Series: Need
            1. Need
            2. Captivate
            3. Entice
            4. Endure
Rating: ★★★★
Goodreads Synopsis:
Pain shoots through my head. Fireworks. Explosions. All inside my brain. The white world goes dark and I know what's about to happen.

Zara White suspects there's a freaky guy semi-stalking her. She's also obsessed with phobias. And it's true, she hasn't exactly been herself since her stepfather died. But exiling her to shivery Maine to live with her grandmother? That seems a bit extreme. The move is supposed to help her stay sane...but Zara's pretty sure her mom just can't deal with her right now.
She couldn't be more wrong. Turns out the semi-stalker is not a figment of Zara's overactive imagination. In fact, he's still following her, leaving behind an eerie trail of gold dust. There's something not right - not human - in this sleepy Maine town, and all signs point to Zara.
In this creepy, compelling breakout novel, Carrie Jones delivers romance, suspense, and a creature you never thought you'd have to fear.
My Review:
After the death of Zara's stepfather, Zara has been collecting phobias like some people collect coins. She is afraid of pretty much everything. So her mother has decided to send Zara to Main to live with her grandmother. In this new town Zara finds it difficult to fit in. It's cold here and she hates it. Not to mention she keeps seeing a creepy guy all around town who happens to be leaving glittery gold dust behind. Say what!? Well it turns out he is a pixie and not one of those cute Tinkerbell types. Nope. He is pure evil. He is controlled by horrible needs--needs that have been causing boys to disappear and it's up to Zara to figure out why. Because she doesn't know it yet, but this mysterious guy isn't in town to only kidnap boys he has something evil planned and it involves Zara. As Zara learns about who she is, she discovers that there are far more dangerous secrets that her grandmother has been hiding from her. And she is not the only one in town who has supernatural powers.
Zara is such an interesting character. She has a kind heart because all she wants to do it save the world, yet at the same time, her self-sacrificing qualities make her extremely vulnerable to her enemies. In my opinion her character was very well written. I seldom found her to be dull or lacking. Also the other characters were surprising entertaining. Her grandmother or Gram for short was a supportive character. She is a very strong, funny and independent woman who loves her only granddaughter to pieces. Which makes the story more realistic to the reader. The love interest was of course cute and desirable. Nick is the type of guy that every girl would fall for and his character fit well with Zara.
My favorite part about this book was how the author described the pixies. They are deliciously treacherous creatures who glamour themselves to appear human, and are greedy for everything. I enjoyed reading this book. It has everything. From pixies to Valkyries to werewolves, Need was definitely a diverse paranormal book.
